घरवापसी आणि धर्मांतरण

सध्या वृत्तपत्र, इलेक्ट्रोनिक माध्यमांमध्ये सर्वत्र घरवापसी आणि धर्मांतरण हा विषय गाजत आहे आणि नि:संदेह हा चिंताजनक मुद्दा आहेच. संघ आणि संघविचारांच्या विविध संघटनांना मुळात अशी घरवापसी ची कामे का करावी लागतात? ह्या मागचा  त्यांचा हेतू काय आहे?  नि:ष्पक्षपणे ह्या वस्तुस्थितीचा विचार होणे आवश्यक आहे. नुसता संघ हे काम करतो म्हणून त्यास विरोध हे योग्य नाहीच.

गोव्यातील धर्मांतराची उदाहरणे

सोळाव्या शतकात गोव्यात झालेले धर्मांतरण  सर्वश्रुत असेलच. नसल्यास वाचकांना पुढील संदर्भ नक्कीच बघता येतील.

गोव्याची उदाहरणे तर केवळ वानगीदाखल सांगितली. पण संपूर्ण भारतात ह्या किंवा काहीश्या अश्याच प्रकारे मुस्लिम आणि ख्रिश्ती धर्मांतरे चालत असतात.

छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज आणि नेताजी पालकर

आता जर कुणी अश्या बळजबरीने किंवा प्रलोभने दाखवून हिंदू धर्म सोडलेल्याना परत हिंदू धर्मात आणत असेल तर तथाकथित मल्टीकम्युनल्स बोंबा का ठोकताहेत? बळजबरीने धर्म बदलेल्याना परत आपल्या धर्मात आणणे हे आपले सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व नाही का?

शिवाजी महाराजांनी  नेताजी पालकरांना (मुहम्मद कुलीखानाचा पुन्हा नेताजी करून ) हिंदू धर्मात परत आणलेच ना? छत्रपतींची शिवाजी महाराजांची थोरवी गातानाच  त्यांनी घडवून आणलेला घरवापसीचा आदर्श ठेवायला नको का?

 

लोकसंख्येचे गणित

भारताचा इतिहास अभ्यास केला असता जिथे जिथे हिंदू लोकसंख्या कमी झाली तो तो भूभाग आपल्या देशापासून वेगळा  झाला हे उघड्या डोळ्यांनी दिसणारे सत्य होय.

 "हिंदू भावको जब जब भूले  आयी विपद महान भाई टूटे धरती खोयी" ह्या कवितेच्या ओळी प्रत्यक्षात येतात हा आपला इतिहास आपण जाणत  नाही का? पाकीस्तान, अफगाणिस्थान (तेव्हाचा गांधार देश), बांगलादेश हे  आज भारतासमोरची  समस्या आहेत कि नाहीत? आणि ही  राष्ट्रे हिंदू लोकसंख्या कमी झाल्याने निर्माण झाली आहेत हे तर सूर्यप्रकाशा इतके ढळढळीत सत्य मान्य करायलाच हवे. आज काश्मीर, अरुणाचल, नागालेंन्ड तसेच इतर सिमावर्तीय राज्यांमध्ये अलगाववादाच्या समस्या ह्या हिंदू  लोकसंख्या कमी झाल्याने उत्पन्न झालेल्या नाहीत असे कुणीतरी म्हणेल काय?

काही विदेशी लेखक आणि सामाजिक कार्यकर्त्यांची ख्रिस्ती मतांतरणाबाद्दलची मते संदर्भादाखल देत आहोत--

Why I am Not a Convert

I Disbelieve in Conversion

            I disbelieve in the conversion of one person by another. My effort should never to be to undermine another's faith. This implies belief in the truth of all religions and, therefore, respect for them. It implies true humility. (Young India: April 23, 1931)

Missionary Aim: Uprooting Hinduism

            My fear is that though Christian friends nowadays do not say or admit it that Hindu religion is untrue, they must harbour in their breast that Hinduism is an error and that Christianity, as they believe it, is the only true religion. So far as one can understand the present (Christian) effort, it is to uproot Hinduism from her very foundation and replace it by another faith. (Harijan: March 13,1937)

Undermining People's Faith

            The first distinction I would like to make between your missionary work and mine is that while I am strengthening the faith of people, you (missionaries) are undermining it. (Young India: November 8, 1927)

भोळ्या जनां नागविती । धर्मान्तरा करोनिया ।
वाढवोनी आपुले संख्याबळ । करावी सत्तेसाठी चळवळ ।

ऐसा डाव साधती सकळ । निधर्मी हे सेवेतुनी ।।

आम्ही काय करणार?

वस्तुस्थितीचा योग्य, निर्भीड व नि:ष्पक्षपणे विचार केला जाणे आवश्यक आहे.  आणि ह्या धर्म कार्याकरिता सर्वांनी तनमनधनपूर्वक सहभागी व्हावे. तेही जमत नसल्यास आपल्या जवळपासचे हिंदूचे धर्मांतर होऊ नये म्हणून आपण जागरूक राहून प्रयत्न तर नक्कीच करू शकतो. लक्षात असू द्या--
